Oktoberfest and other Fall Fun!

The colors, sights, sounds and smells of autumn hold many reminders that the end of the summer is looming and the end of another year is swiftly closing in.  It’s no different at the Shift office, where we’re still savoring the fun of our summer programs as we make plans for activities that will keep kids feeling engaged, connected and supported throughout the school year.

Oktoberfest fixedWhen we launched Oktoberfest last year, we knew we wanted to hold a community event that folks loved – not just because they know and love us, but because they, too wanted to grab a fall moment to savor the warmth while welcoming the cold.  It was a great success and we can’t wait to do it again!

This year, we make welcoming the cold a little easier for one lucky winner as we raffle off a Bridger Bowl Season Pass.  We hope you’ll be there to hear the winner’s name called at Oktoberfest, but if you can’t join us, you can still be eligible to win.

Event and raffle tickets can be purchased on-line here or by calling us at 222-7879.

Oktoberfest isn’t all about fun.  It’s also about supporting one of our biggest programs, Stride.  Now in it’s fifth year, Stride is making a real difference in the lives of Livingston teens – helping them stay in school and develop a vision of their future that leverages their strengths and capabilities.

Stride is a yearlong program that starts with a summer camp and continues through the school year with weekly in-school support, out-of-school activities and family programming. The development of Stride has transformed much of how we approach programs, allowing for multiple points of entry as well as a way to sustain support over time. Nearly 25% of all Stride participants return to the program for more than one year and amongst this group of returnees, 91% have either graduated or remain enrolled in school.

So, we have a lot to celebrate this fall.  Come join us!
